Description: The Xia.G7 antibody reacts with mouse GPIb alpha (CD42b), a platelet/megakaryocyte-specific polypeptide that is part of the GPIb-V-IX complex. The antibody binds to the 130 kDa extracellular domain of GPIb alpha (glycocalicin), which is proteolytically released during platelet activation. Xia.G7 recognizes the membrane-bound and the soluble form of GPIb alpha.
